-The Electric Showdown-

As Ash was navigating with his map through Vermilion City to the Gym, he came upon a gigantic Pokemon! As Ash came closer, he then knew that it was a Charmander, the one Gary had. "Okay, fire types are weak against water, so go Wartortle!" Ash said as he threw out Wartortle's Pokeball. Wartortle came out of his Pokeball and used its Bubble attack on Charmander. Charmander was thrown to a wall, but got back up to use its Flamethrower. Wartortle jumped aside the attack and used its Hydro Pump. As Charmander was hit from the high-pressured attack, he flew into the air. Ash threw his Pokeball at it while it was in the air, which captured him. Ash continued to find the Gym. After a few moments, he saw a gigantic building with electricity fields around it. "This must be the Gym. I can sorta' tell that this Gym was made for electric types." Ash said as he was walking to the Mini-PokeCenter.

Ash healed his Pokemon, then opened the door towards the arena. As he came through the door, a Pokemon flew right at him. Ash ducked, then turned around to see that it was a Rattata. The Rattata was ke'OD and was thrown into the wall. Ash then turned around to see his master coming. "What happened?" Ash said as he spoke to the Rattata's trainer. "It's the gym leader's trainer. He injured my Pokemon while battle using his electric sources. I lost to him more than 5 times since this past week! Good luck!" The Pokemon trainer said as he came out of the arena. By the time Ash came onto the arena, he was worried after seeing the Rattata's injury. Out of nowhere, Lt. Surge jumped onto the arena holding 2 Pokeballs. "Are you my next victim? Let's battle, 2 on 2!" Surge said as he pulled back his hat.

"Fine, I'm ready!" Ash said throwing back his backpack. "Go Voltorb!" Lt. Surge said as he threw his Pokeball into the air. "I choose Sandshrew!" Ash replied as he shot Sandshrew's energy holding the Pokeball. Sandshrew had his attack first by using its Dig attack. The Voltorb looked around for Sandshrew as Sandshrew caused a critical hit on Voltorb. Voltorb rolled back up, but using its Light Screen attack which left Sandshrew blinded by the light. Voltorb let loosed its Sonicboom attack. Sandshrew got knocked back down. "Voltorb, finish it off with an explosion!" Surge shouted out with a grin. "Sandshrew get back up!" Ash shouted out as the Explosion hit Sandshrew.

"NO, Sandshrew return!" Ash said as he pulled back Sandshrew. "Man, Sandshrew and Voltorb both fainted," Ash thought to himself as he thought of which Pokemon to use next. "Raichu go and finish off all of this trainer's Pokemon! "That's it, Pikablu, go!" Ash said as he threw his Pokeball. As Pikablu came out of its Pokeball, Lt. Surge looked in amazement. "What the? I never heard of that Pokemon before. How did you get that Pokemon?" Lt. Surge said as he saw the Pikablu. "Not telling, it's a Pokemon Trainer's secret! Go catch your own Pikablu!" Ash replied. "Fine then, Raichu, use your Thundershock!" Surge said in a rage. Raichu used its Thundershock attack, which hit Pikablu. But Pikablu withstood Raichu's own power. "Wow, Pikablu is imune to electric and water type elements." Ash thought in amazement. "Okay then, Pikablu use your own electric powers." Ash commanded. Pikablu used Thunderbolt on Raichu, which knocked it through the wall. Raichu was paralyzed. "What?!?!?!" Lt. Surge yelled as he ran to pick up his Raichu.

"Fine take this badge, it shows to me that you were a great trainer, I never had that kind of battle before. So now your next battle is in Saffron City." Lt. Surge told Ash as Ash left the gym. Ash and Lt. Surge said their good byes as Ash left into the horizon. Ash read a sign on the road that this was the way towards Saffron City. As Ash turned away from the sign, a ghost appeared.

Ash stood there for a moment, in shock, but after realizing that it was a Pokemon, he pulled out his PokeDex. Ash found out that it was a Gengar, so Ash threw out his Pikachu. Pikachu use its Thundershock, which made the Gengar paralyzed. "Pokeball go! " Ash said as he threw out his Pokeball. Ash had his new Pokemon in his Pokeball, now he was on his way towards Saffron City
